Cardinals – Masquerade

Cardinals announce their debut album with the track title “Masquerade”. The Cork five-piece recorded ten songs at RAK Studios with producer Shrink, creating something that shifts from folk honesty to goth-rock theatrics across two distinct halves. Frontman Euan Manning calls it “peeling back the masquerade or the facade we all put up” and “Masquerade” itself embodies that vulnerability.

Built around brothers Euan and Finn Manning, cousin Darragh, and schoolmates Oskar Gudinovic and Aaron Hurley, Cardinals have been gathering steam supporting Fontaines D.C., Wunderhorse, and The Pogues. Only previous single “Big Empty Heart” makes the album tracklist, showing how fresh this material is. Manning explains the approach: “It’s really easy to be cynical and far harder to be hopeful and genuine… making art forces you to dig deeper than that protective layer.”

“Masquerade” drops February 13th.
